PRAYER & FASTING

OUR VISION OF PRAYER
Prayer is our first response in every situation, shaping our personal lives, groups, and gatherings. As a church, we pray with joy and expectancy, led by the Spirit. Our prayer is never legalistic but always life-giving and transformational.

Purpose of fasting

  • Fasting is giving up something good, in order to feast on something even better in the presence of God.

  • Fasting is a way of saying God I’m more hungry for You than I even am for food.

  • Fasting is making space in our lives to focus on God seek Him for breakthrough in an area of our lives.

How to fast:

  • Choose a meal(s) to fast that day (if you can't/don't want to fast food all day).

  • If fasting food is not possible for you or safe for you (please consult your doctor if you’re not sure), then you could abstain from other things like social media, TV, phone etc.

  • Choose how you will spend time praying during the time that you would normally be eating (etc)

  • When the tummy rumbles rumble (or the urge to check fb/insta/your phone or turn on the TV comes along), use it as a reminder to pray to God
